Life in a sketch

Sometimes line sketches and thumbnails have so much more life to them than a final painted piece, even if they contain inaccuracies. This is such a case.
This character drawing for The Mad Hatter wasn't actually used in the final book, but I liked the sketch and kept it aside all those years back.
I just came across it again when clearing out my studio, and I still like it!
